It looks lovely, Guy! I think you picked the best colour too.
I was so tempted by this, (particularly as I'd quite like to pick up a Kiwi watch) but I was put off by the thickness. I'm looking forward to seeing how this looks on the wrist.

Nice pick up Guy
...and I agree with Steve - very nicely presented
Yup; no frills and a very useable travel case.
jtc wrote: Thu Feb 11, 2021 9:46 pm Wow, tool watch in the literal sense - you could use that as quite the hammer!

Enjoy another fun addition to the collection.
I really like the hooded lugs, different to the norm, and useful as a hammer!

They do however, make it a bit tricky to fit a NATO as the angles and clearance are both quite tight. If I do get a NATO on it can only be a normal thin 1.2mm one.

Its useful to have QR spring bars on the bracelet, except they're a bit tricky to get off as they are only single ended (unlike CW's double ended) like the QR bars in a strap, except the bracelet end is, not unexpectedly, solid. I've got the bracelet off though withought too much trouble and am about to size it.

I have just the NATO strap for that - a BRAND NEW 22mm ZULUDIVER (Veryan) NATO, Green with Beige stripe
Currently available from WatchGecko for £6 delivered, but you can have mine for a £5 delivered?

Good suggestion.

I've been and checked, as I have most variants of the Veryan, and I've got a 22mm green/beige already but might try the teal/beige.

Thanks.

That’s a nice one Guy. Of course it has an advantage in the appeal stakes for me due to having a green dial; usually a plus in my books. I like the hooded lugs too, so not only are straps an easy alternative, so too are different bracelets!

Cheers Gary. Image Image

I've got the bracelet resized, although whilst I was doing it I slipped it onto a couple of different straps.

The Draken green rubber (matching the dial) is really quite thick but suitably flexible and definitely long enough. It works well.

I also tried it on a soft leather strap and found the watch flopped around a bit and felt a tad top heavy. Once sized and on the bracelet it feels nicely balanced but hefty.

Kitchen scales? 210g. Oh, that is hefty.

Anyway, a couple of wrist shots before bedtime.

Totally different watches, but that dial colour (and finish) looks to be very much like my green & black Magrette Dual Time. Not that it counts for anything, but I approve! Image

BTW, I do like how the date wheel is match to the colour and position of the hour markers.

The Magrette looks to be slightly darker green, or is that the influence of the black case?

It will be interesting to see the colour in full daylight.

My photos so far have been taken in my kitchen with part daylight / part LED lighting or this evening with full LED lighting.

That's a good looking watch Guy. The case and bracelet remind me a bit of Sinn with that beadblasted look that gives it the air of solidity/invincibility. The almost sandwich style dial also looks interesting.

I don't know what these cost but I'd imagine a great vfm acquisition.

Switched my Benguela onto its rubber strap. Really quite comfortable and agreeably long (90mm / 130mm).

I tried out a couple of yellow straps over the weekend which work pretty well I reckon, matching up with the lume triangle.

I tweaked the adjustment on the bracelet yesterday, adding a link back in to allow it to sit in the 3rd or 4th hole of six on the micro-adjustment, and am now wearing it back on the bracelet which, although heavier than on a strap, seems better balanced.

Finally, I did a rudimentary time check against my phone and over three days, Friday - Sunday, its running at better than -2 sec/day; about the same as my C65 Super Compressor at +2 sec/day.

Back on its bracelet today.

There are some great pieces of detail in this watch. The overhanging hour markers. Convex crystal creating all sorts of reflections. Lumed date wheel and logo in the crown.

I could go, but I'll let the pictures do the talking.

I nearly bought the blue dial version as well, last night, using a code for 15% off that came with this one.

However, I rolled back around to a more exclusive Draken that I'd been musing over for the last few weeks though.
