Interesting UK Kickstarter - Nardi
Came accross this the other day and having exchanged a number of messages with the founders think its quite interesting (I am not affiliated or involved in any way)!
Thought some on here might also find it interesting so...
Although accepting that it will be polarising, I actually really like the case/dial design and the movement on this model is Sellita as opposed to a cheaper far east option.
The bezel looks v nice, quality of finish will be everything! Im waiting to hear the final design decision on the date wheel as its black in some rendering and white in the one below which is less cohesive.
Im not really too bothered about the historic links and use of steel from a RN Frigate (some definitely will be) but amongst the 100s of micro watch launches on KS, it grabbed my attention. https://www.nardiwatches.com/the-watch/

You are right, or at the least a fuller shape to the current hands. Will be watching (excuse the pun) how it progresses.FloridaPhil wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2020 2:59 pm It really needs the original style Trident waterdrop hour hand!

It’s a decent looking watch amongst a lot of the guff you often see on KS

Re: Interesting UK Kickstarter - Nardi
It's interesting (moreso than most stuff on KS) but seems to be quite a mish-mash of design choices such that it ends up looking confused. The date is too small given the scale, and they've clearly been looking at the Marloe Morar for the marker design.

Doesn't need anything changing; its fabulous and, as the designers say, just that little bit different.
I love it.
As the project recognises, £430 is a bit of a big punt for an 'unknown watch' but I feel it has the quality and spec to warrant it.
Decisions.
Difficult; particularly as I quite like the Bern Milford that's available on Kickstarter at the moment too.

Re: Interesting UK Kickstarter - Nardi
Its easy Guy, do both... Very different ethos, build, design, components etc.
I have as I figure £620 for 2 really interesting automatics that Id happily wear.
Plus, it makes the rationalisation easier; 6 moved on (and Im returning the C60 Mk3 as I haven't gelled, prefer Mk2). At least 12 to go inc. Tudor Grantour Flyback, Autavia CY, Autavia viceroy, Stratton, Dan Henry, 2 x CW, Seiko, others which should free some funds
Im a master at 'man maths'
Edit: also depends if Nardi reach their funding goal!

Just back from walking the dog, which gave me time to mull things over.
Considering funds and timing, I sell my Tisell Marine Diver (Hulk) now to fund the Bern Milford plus back the Nardi HMS C20 which is not due until April. I'll worry about that one later.

Thats cool, we all have different tastes and thankfully the watch market is diverse enough to cater for most.

Re: Interesting UK Kickstarter - Nardi
First up, I hadn't realised the project has only been going a couple of days and is c.50% backed already, with just on a month to go. Cut off is 26th February.
Reading the details thoroughly there is a lot to like about this project (to me, at any rate).
The design is distinctive; Nardi refer to "all Dive Watches are derivatives (shout out to Jehan-Jacques Blancpain).", I prefer to think Schofield, but at a tenth of the price.
They are using recycled HY 80 steel from HMS Cornwall. Had to research that, but in essence its 'Submarine Steel', the likes of which is used in Sinn's U1/U2/UX pieces.
Blobs for the 3, 6, 9 & 12 hour markers? Different again; makes me think of my Visitor Duneshore.
Upshot of all this is; Backed.

The developers at Nardi are doing a series of video blogs about the design and ongoing production of the HMS-C20.

Very interesting design, personally I think it might be a tad big for me, still mulling that. But definitely a bit different, I have no doubt it will meet it's target.
The Supersport looks even more interesting, like the low key look even if it is a quartz movement.

Hi Guy
Thanks for posting these.
Having watched the vlogs, looked at the CAD and seen the latest batches of pics, Im definitely keeping my backing in place and hoping they get over the line.
Not too many units left on this interesting project, now 77% funded with 23 units left.
