I'm assuming this is the same watch as discussed a few weeks back.

https://www.watchpro.com/tudor-submarin ... ion-house/
Thanks for this - I hadn't seen it!

I am assuming this is the work of the auctioneer - Gardiner Houlgate - not only has my dad spoken very highly about his personal dealings with the Director, David Hare, and what a nice guy he is, but I think that this is a masterful bit of promotion. The auction itself had already been promoted by news stories regarding a watch gifted by the Apollo 11 Team and now it appears that the day/night before, my dad's watch was specifically promoted too. I would definitely recommend them.

Also, it is amazing to see a photo of my grandad, who died in the 80s, and never knew what the internet was, appear on it like this.
Yes Gardiner Houlgate are very good and David is a very nice chap.
Last year I went to one of their auctions and came away with an Omega Aqua Terra Spectre.
Funnily enough the guy that David gets to verify, fix and service watches, is my friend Andy from Wiltshire Watches.
I was speaking to him last night and happen to mention this watch...
He then proceeded to tell me all about it :D

A great result for you and your Dad

Small world Strapmeister! They say that there are 6 degrees of separation between all people, but maybe it's less if you include watches!
So would your friend have been the person who took the watch apart for the photos and would he have provided the info for the condition report?

To everyone else, thanks for all your nice comments and congratulations.

Just seen that Watch Pro have done a new headline story on the sale for anyone who's interested:

The Monkey: Congratulations! I'm not knowledgeable at all about vintage watches and never bothered to read this thread, but I noticed today it kept showing up in the Portal Page. What a terrific story and outcome. Thank you so much for sharing.
Best regards,
John
