I look forward to seeing this on SC in due course.
That made me chuckle you cheeky young chap

Congrats - every time I see the one with the red dial (steel case) it's calling out my name. Still able to resist but who knows for how long. Wear it in good health. Cheers, Robin.

I like everything about that Oris Paul but have always had a special liking for The Red Rotor.

Very nice indeed Paul and a good size. I too like date pointer system and vintage look.
I have no money left now but getting a bronze back in my collection is a long term aim. Enjoy.

Unplanned (well a bit) bronze oris bcpd

Post by gaf1958 »

That looks really nice Paul. I like the stainless model as well, but that is quite a bit nicer. I particularly like the coin edge bezel with bronze watches - my Lum Tec Combat B (which I’ve owned for many years) has a coin edge bezel and the patina on the bronze alloy they use is black. The recessed parts of the bezel are are quite dark, but the surfaces where you touch the bezel are still quite bronze coloured - the contrast really picks up the coin bezel as a feature and it looks fantastic. Hopefully yours will develop nicely and become a favourite.
A good buy Paul.
Edit... a pic. I hope you keep it long enough to get patina like this.

Top notch purchase Paul.

There's an awful lot to like in this, with the Mercedes hands, coin edge bezel, red rotor.

Reminds me, to a certain degree, of my Hanhart Pioneer Monocontrol.

Enjoy it.

Righto scooter
Cheers Andy
Cheers Gary. I was a big fan of that series of lumtec models as soon as they were released which was a fair while ago now and the only thing holding me back from getting one like yours was the 43mm case size. Great watch though.
Cheers Guy. One thing though.... these are cathedral hands. Mercedes hands are rolex sports models hands.

Looking forward to wearing it for a few days

Oops. Cathedral hands then.

Got mixed up, I just know my Hanhart has them.

Congrats on your new Oris Paul, very smart.

Did you consider a CW bronze before taking the plunge on Oris e.g. a C65 Ombre, or was it your past love of your BCPD that lured you back to Oris?

I must admit I do still regret selling an Oris BCPD that I used to own (per crappy old photo of it below). I like the rarity of the day pointer and you've gotta love the Oris red rotor 8)
