Pinion Atom 39 ND

Post by downer »

I'm sure many of you will have already seen the email from Piers, but I must admit to being rather tempted by the upcoming Atom 39 ND (No Date).

Pinion wrote:The focal point to the new design will be injection moulded luminova numerals and pips, that will be machined and applied to the surface of the multi-contrast dial ( Note: The prototypes shown, only illustrate these as printed ). Surrounding the edge of the dial, a rehault ring will provide extra depth with the inner edges machined out to display the applied luminova pips.

As with the previous model, the Atom 39 ND will have a matt-blasted stainless steel case, it will be powered by the ubiquitous Swiss ETA 2824-2 automatic movement and will be assembled and tested in England.

The Atom ND will retail for £1,150 ( incl. Vat ) / £958.33 ( Excl. Vat ).

Introductory pricing
Customers wishing to reserve one of the first watches will benefit from an introductory price of £1,050 (Incl. Vat) / £875 (Excl. Vat).
Keen on the green watch and may well add my name to the reservation list.

Anyone else tempted?

I reserved one about an hour ago. :)

Not decided yet between blue or green.

They certainly both look very very nice and a step up from the previous Atoms. Great work Piers

Admiring without desiring.

Very nice though.

I like my Atom39, but I do think I may prefer the cleaner dial of the new ND version.

I have also realised that I like it because, in many ways, it has a similar dial layout to this.

Looks rather smart in a Military / Field watch kind of way.

Is the case finish brushed or blasted (sorry, not received the email).

Indeed. More than a passing resemblance, and none the worse for it.

A really nice edition to the Pinion stable. I do rate this watch a great deal, I reckon green would be the way to go.
