I remember you posting about that before, Richard. Very strange, WB has always been very welcoming as far as I’m concerned.

I did shortly afterwards and was offered a Tudor BB GMT (on bracelet) that they hand under the counter awaiting a ‘suitable’ purchaser

This was followed by Dipples where I was lucky to escape without buying the Oris Pro Pilot X.

All in all, I got out of town with my wallet intact.

timor54 wrote: Fri Oct 18, 2019 7:02 pm Went for a visit today, not a great success.

The shop window displays are a fair number of empty watch boxes and a lot of NATO straps.

The website indicated that it was open normal shop hours. Turned up at lunchtime and the sign said closed.
Exactly the same today, Tim. NATO straps, empty boxes, shop sign CLOSED at 11.15 despite conflicting info on website.

Conclusion: must try harder.

Having checked his stock online I'm not in the market for anything anyway. Still, if I were...

Sent him a quick message last night, very polite but asking why he was not open and when he is likely to be open. Received a one line reply saying he would be open Saturday.

Website indicates Monday to Friday, 0900 to 1700. Saturday not mentioned. :problem:

Further message received indicating he can be available during the week but needs an hour’s notice and wants to know which watches I’m interested in.

Well, I was only going for a browse. Seems that is not the way it works.

Such a strange way of running a business as it stops any passing trade

It sounds like if you are very nice to him, very patient and get lucky, then you may be permitted to buy one of this watches.

Sounds like a Rolex AD :)

Seriously though, poor show and no way to run a business
