This is the kind of post that could qualify as a weapon of savings destruction. I had a relative with a Speedmaster and remember that when I saw it as a kid, I thought it was the coolest watch I'd ever seen. Part of it was the moon watch history, and another part was the appearance and functionality.

Whatever your reasons are for buying a watch, any watch, wanting that watch is probably the top reason to buy one. Whatever makes one want a watch is a very personal feeling, but I have a simple way of deciding to buy something. Whether it's a small or big purchase, if I have doubts I simply wait until I'm more certain about my feelings.

Coincidentally, I did end up purchasing a vintage Speedmaster that's very similar to the on my relative showed me those many year ago, and I love it. If you love a watch, it's a pretty clear indication that you want it. :D

Well to update the thread, after looking at and trying on many Omega models, I decided to go for a PO. The newer models I found either to small at 39.5mm or too large @ 43.5 or 45.5mm. They are also fairly tall. So ultimately I went for one of the older models 42mm with the slimmer 2500 co axial movement. Anyway here it is, my Xmas present from my wife.

Congratulations Patrick. That is certainly a lovely PO model!

I don't know why, but I was expecting you to post pics of a BLRO when you mentioned a new watch :?

Top notch Patrick.

A classic design (or will be in a few years) and I can appreciate your desire to go with the older model.

Enjoy.

Richard yes, I thought you'd recognise it. Having done my research and read up on PO's it seemed the one to go for, and your tempting photos of yours didn't help dissuade me! I think it's the gloss of the ceramic dial that is the killer feature for me that really makes it look special.

Cheers Ryan, I think I'll need to stick to my Tudor GMT as my one Pepsi watch given how hard/expensive it is to find the BLRO!
