Tokyo - used watches?

Post by 0uatiOW »

A while ago, I thought I saw someone post about a trip to a location in Japan (I thought Tokyo), where there were several stores selling used watches - lots of goodies there - Rolex, Omega, others. There were lots of photos and the place didn’t look fancy (meaning it wasn’t a high-end store like a Ginza boutique) - it looked more like an underground corridor with several small stores - perhaps underneath a railway station.

I may be heading to a Tokyo later this month, so if anyone know of this place I’d be grateful for the details. I did search for Japan and Tokyo, but I didn’t see the post.

Thanks in advance if anyone has any information.

It's been Four years since I was last in Tokyo but at the time there was a pre-owned watch store in the Ginza area that did have a decent selection. With apologies, I do not recall the name.

Thanks guys. Actually, I made a mistake - I found the original thread on the Omega Forum. Not cheap but I think it’ll be worth a look if I get over there, even if I’m not a buyer. Looks like an Aladdin’s cave of vintage watches.

Hi there,

A good place is Jack Road, which is located in Nakano, Tokyo. It’s at the bottom of a sheltered shopping arcade just opposite Nakano train station.

Second floor.

Some drool-worthy second hand vintage stuff there so don’t forget to take a bucket and a towel if you go.

^^^^ Great photos and some some scary prices there but from what I have read, there’s plenty of stock to be had. Worth a look if I can make it there. Trip planned to HK but it’s looking dicey so May be diverted to Tokyo. Or may get caught up in the unrest.

My ongoing research uncovered an extensive guide to watch shopping in Tokyo, covering several locations including Nakano Broadway.

Great link. Now I just have to plan a trip to Tokyo for at least one of these locations and the Seiko museum too. Must not tell the wife though.

^ That was my thought. If I get a chance to visit, I might be able to get it back home without the wife noticing. When she eventually sees it she won’t notice because “all those watches look the same”... :D

So long as the other half doesn't find a random watchbox or receipt she would never know if a watch was new or not.
I bought a C60 Mk II blue and wore it for six weeks without her noticing. It was only that she remembered that I'd visited CW towers in Maidenhead that she even thought to ask if I'd bought anything.
