Hello there, Happy Easter.
Some time ago i put my Longines Conquest Auto up for sale, i didn't have much interest, I'm not sure why, as i think its a cracking watch.
Last week my friend phoned, to say an old mutual friend had bought a Rolex Submariner, but he didn't like wearing it daily, so he wanted an every day watch in a similar style, budget £1000.
I gave him a few options including the CW Trident, Squales, Tissel etc all divers at varying budgets.
I also sent him a picture of the Longines.
He immediately made me an offer, which i couldn't accept, but the second offer secured him the watch.
I met him last night and handed him the watch, he put it on, and was chuffed.
Then he asked "Is it a quartz"
So in summary, although he was spending £400 on a decent watch, he just liked the aesthetics of it, rather than the movement, depth rating, brand heritage etc.
and had it been a quartz, he would have still been pleased as punch.
I wonder if he's taken his Rolex in for a battery change yet ?
Regards Steve
Happy Chappie
