Oris Aquis - Green

Post by r1hjk »

So I’ve had this for a couple of weeks now and I absolutely love it! The build quality of Oris is very good. The bracelet is fantastic and I simple can’t stop looking at it. The design is very clever and wears well on the wrist.

Lovely deep shade of green, ceramic bezel too. Can I ask what size that one is, 43mm?

Yes it’s the 43mm version, the lug design is very clever on the Aquis and wears much smaller.

Good to know re how it wears, I must try an Aquis at some point as they do look very well made.

What I've just noticed on your bracelet, rather than a more common PCL, it has polished outer links and a brushed centre link. I have the PCL on my Trident however generally I prefer an all brushed bracelet.

That does look rather splendid, I must say.

I really like that shade of green, I am thinking it is as nice or nicer than my Aquis 43 with a blue dial. Hmmm....... could be one to consider for next year maybe.

Congrats on a great looking watch!
Cheers, Mike.

Very nice indeed. The dial looks to be a very similar green to my Oris 65 and it looks great on the Aquis. I like it a lot.

Thanks guys - the green is really nice. I think the best description I had was it's very similar to British racing green

This watch is almost a Hulk alternative, slightly cheaper to boot...and a little easier to find for sale.

Hi Patrick, did your spell checker mistakenly correct “significantly” to “slightly”? Image

Alternative? That's preposterous.. :kopfwand:

The Aquis is so much better looking than the Submariner...!

 It was a tongue in cheek use of the word slightly, I should have used inverted comma around it. I think the Hulk RRP is about 4 or 5 times that of the Oris but the true cost of buying one e.g. Chrono 24 price differential more like 7 or 8 times the price

Haha, well don't tell that to Paul (@stefs). I think they are both great looking watches :)

Looks great. I just picked up one of these too - the sunburst dial changes colour in the sunlight (sometimes appearing black). The case is 43.5mm and the (sometimes maligned) lug design allows the bracelet to hang directly down from the springbars instead of curving out and down, and this makes it wear better on smaller wrists (17.5 mine). I took out 5 links - it took me a few minutes - the link screws are so much easier than the pins and collars.
My name is 0uatiOW, but before you ask, no I don’t.
