Bell & Ross Aeronavale - Review and question

Post by albionphoto »

Here's a link to Worn and Wound's review of the Bell & Ross Aeronaval

https://wornandwound.com/review/review- ... eronavale/

Doesn't it remind you of this:

Perhaps even more so in bronze

I'm not a fan of bronze but for the price the CWs are hard to beat.

My thoughts exactly as posted 27th July in the "What watch are you day dreaming about now" thread.
Thanks for the link to a review of the B&R.

Dead ringers, but as you say the CWs trump on VFM.

I can't do the bronze either, which is a great pity as the C65 SH21 is highly desirable.

To be fair, that’s just the latest iteration in a Bell & Ross range that’s been around much longer than the C65 has. The CW is admittedly better priced.

It just goes to show that there's nothing new under the sun. I thought the C65 was inspired by the Oris Divers 65, now it seems it has many "parents".

I suspect that the Oris 65 has been more the inspiration for the C65 than the B&R. :) It certainly predates the B&R considerably.

Other B&R models however, have been quite an inspiration for the C11 range. I think CW changed the B&R look sufficiently, particularly the square case, to produce an individual looking watch in the C11 range.

I think they’ve also achieved that with the C65 range. Inspired by many, but still individual enough without being a blatant copy.

Nothing new under the sun, indeed...
