Which Steinhart?
I've decided on one little splurge before some solid saving and selling for an as yet undecided tudor. I had thought about the Gnomon limited edition but with vat it's going over what I'm prepared to spend. So I've moved onto the ocean one 39 which I think for me is a great size diver. But I'm undecided between the black or green bezel so thought I'd canvas the forum for opinions and feedback. I like the fact the green appears less reflective and the markings are clearer than on the black but the black would be less prone to scratches etc. The green would also offer a bit of variety in my collection as I already have a skx013 but the black is a better all round look. I'm not fussed about the homage debate just what's best out of the two. Oh and I'd you've got either model you're more than welcome to post a few pictures to sway me

Re: Which Steinhart?
I have one although not a 39mm and the older aluminium bezel version. The green is great at showing up different shades.

Easy decision for me, as I was waiting for a black C60 GMT...
The 39mm certainly wears well (for me), & the bracelet is a dream to size!

Re: Which Steinhart?
My very first Steinhart was an Ocean One Green in 42mm and it's a real good looker. Needless to say, I moved it on.....as you do...
Five years later I acquired another in 39mm which although I bought as a "primer" to a Sub LV, the prices of them in the last 12 months have ROCKETED so I've now decided to pass on that option....
The new tapered bracelet is a nice touch.

Re: Which Steinhart?
In this case, I’d go green. The introduction of the 39mm case is smart move by Steinhart.
If they bring out an Ocean Vintage GMT in 39, I think it will be one to try.

I opted for the black. Prefer ceramic plus I know I would be saying to myself "its not a Kermit" repeatedly
Cheers now, Paul

Loved my green Ocean One, but at 41mm it was too large.
I hadn't realised that they now come in 39mm.
Perfect size.
Great watches and excellent value for money.

Re: Which Steinhart?
Both look good, but the black having the ceramic bezel just nicks it for me.
The convenient thing with these Steinharts is that if you're not happy down the line, you can always purchase the alternative bezel for a swap.
Not intending to derail the thread, but I didn't realise they'd released a RG plated 39mm version
Now that would be adding variety to the collection Neil

I think I have seen something similar elsewhere, although it should have a rubber strap.StrappedUp wrote:Both look good, but the black having the ceramic bezel just nicks it for me.

Now where did I park the yacht!
However back to the matter in hand - I vote green.

Re: Which Steinhart?
While I really like a ceramic bezel, I’m equally partial to green, which is what I’ve voted for.
Even though I normally wear 40-44mm watches, the long, flat lugs on the 42mm model didn’t sit as well on my wrist as I’d like, so I ended up selling it.
I bought one of the 39mm Gnomon LEs you mentioned. The slightly smaller case size and shorter, but still quite flat lugs sit nicely on my 7.25” wrist. The tapered bracelet and smaller clasp also sit better than the original. I find the smaller version a great choice.
