Always hate it when web sites don't say who they're run by.

Whois gives this info:
Domain name:
seiko-citizen-orient-direct.co.uk

Registrant:
Nicolas Shengaris

Registrant type:
UK Individual

Registrant's address:
124-126 green lanes
London
London
N13 5UN
United Kingdom
There's always time for one more.

Can't see a bricks and mortar address on that site.
That rings alarm bells for me.

Probably an outfit above a shop or something like that, with some busIness contacts in the Far East. Minimum overheads. Try getting a personal response from them before purchasing or check them at Companies House.

Address wasn't obvious to me as browsing on phone. Just a mobile number is still iffy imo.

Curiouser and curiouser..... I checked the address out on Google Maps street view (Nov 2015) ....(the adjacent van centre has an address of 122a Green Lanes so that checks out)

https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.61390 ... 56!6m1!1e1

124-126 Green Lanes seems to be a flooring/door shop although www.floorland.net doesn't seem to exist any more and returns a Server Not Found error.

Missed that, thank you Scrogg.

The address could be the company registered address, which may well be his accountant's office.

An ebay trawl revealed the following

Business seller information
Seiko-citizen-orient-direct
Nicolas Shengaris
43 fountains crescent
southgate
London
n14 6bg
United Kingdom

Phone:07812044827
Email:Floorland@hotmail.co.uk

But the following on the website seems a bit dubious - photocopied manual and not the official box - what's the explanation for that??

PLEASE NOTE – our watches are delivered in our very own red gift boxes and not in the official seiko box , all watches are delivered with a photocopy version of the manual , however all watches are original genuine seiko watches delivered with all tags and stickers and are covered by our own 2 year guarantee.

Just another grey dealer. Probably OK for an SKX or Mako, but anything better I would go to creationwatches or seiya Japan.

That's a standard EU warranty on all sales from any retail business.

The floor land email address and a private residence in Southgate sounds like the owner has a registered company in Green Lanes that sells flooring and he imports Japanese domestic market watches as a side business.

I know both Southgate and Green Lanes areas well. My daughter lives near Southgate and went to school there.

I'd ask a few questions and say you know someone who lives nearby and then ask if it's possible for them to collect in person.

That should spark enough dialogue to suss out what sort of person it is
