A brilliant story Richard !!
Well done to your parents who rightly said 'life is for living' and went and enjoyed themselves.
Still hoping there is a big Speedmaster box under the tree on the 25th for you mate ;)

Or is it worth asking the shop if it is cheaper to buy by the pair....they might flog the second off at even more discount..... :?

Don't worry, I'm sure there'll be a nice Invicta under the tree for you on the 25th

No chance it's a geneve and he got it for his 18th ( he's 72 now) for years it was his only watch and he would wear it all the time. Never had a proper service,he's had it cleaned a few times, buts still runs a treat. Next time I visit a take a few pics

I don't want to be morbid (my father is a similar age), but the positive thing about your dad getting nice watches is that you can inherit them.
Something to bear in mind when giving gifts too...
