New Arrival - Quite a journey this last month

Post by bobbubka »

As some of you may be aware I have a very strong affection for the Tudor brand, for many reasons that I won't discuss now, and this led me on the search for a vintage Tudor Sub.

This proved challenging and disheartening in many ways. I found some lovely pieces, but the appeal of a vintage timepiece eventually wore off.

As a result, I then moved on to my most desired piece. A Rolex Sub. I love the watch, I handled many in the last month and came very close to buying on a few occasions. However, the physiological aspect of having £5k worth of watch on my wrist couldn't be overcome.

It seems although I love the Rolex Sub it won't ever be for me. In my mind I cannot justify it even though the funds were available. I can't actually ever see this changing.

The other watch Ive admired for a long time is what I picked up last night from my AD. It is also iconic, the movement very special indeed and the overall quality outstanding.

I'm in love with this piece and to make it even better, my AD offered me a deal I simply couldn't refuse. It was effectively used price level.

Finally, after a lot of searching and flipping I feel I'm in a position where I am at "peace" with my small and humble collection. I can't see anything moving on or being added anytime soon. It's time to enjoy the pieces I've amassed and I feel very privileged to own them.

The forum, as always, has helped me arrive in this place and I thank you all for your posts and varying threads.

The three together

Beautiful find. The Seamaster Pro is probably the most worn watch in my collection. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I have enjoyed mine. Wear it in good health.

Absolutely lovely. The Seamaster Pro is one of those watches I've admired since I was a child and I'd love to own one some day.

A great collection, enjoy!

Now there are three very fine watches. I must say I do like the Seamaster without the wave pattern dial, congratulations.

Three absolutely superb watches! All you will ever need...I am a great fan of all three and if it helps I think the BBR is nicer than the sub anyway!(Although its better with the proper fitted bracelet imho :D )
Cheers now, Paul

A beautiful watch, a timeless classic and from what you tell us, at a great price as well - it can't get much better than that. I also love the look of the new Omega box. Many congratulations!

Thanks for all the comments everyone. The box was a nice surprise and I did query it with the AD as I thought it should have been red leather.

Neil - was told it is the "new release", so thanks for clarifying as that's useful to know and hopefully won't be problematic if I did ever want to sell.

Dancematt- the strap looks great and changes the look. This is the best fitting bracelet I have so it'll be staying for a while.

Kip, I know I know. I'm probably kidding myself, but I'm really going to try!
