One watch, one watch only..........

Post by smegwina »

Okey dokey, this is not a grail, dreaming about, plan to buy thread.

The premise here is........ you can keep one watch, only one watch from your PRESENT collection.

There is no namby pamby this and that! One only.

So many of you lot on here have fabulous collections in which you describe the watches you use for various outings and purposes.

I think it would be interesting though to know which of yours you would pick if you could only have the one. The chances are it will not be the 'obvious' choice and you may be surprised with the one you end up with!

For me, out of my rather small, inadequate collection, it would have to be this one. No idea why, but after careful consideration, it just is! Certainly not the one that I thought I would choose when I started the process.

Let the process begin.

Oh, And if you only have one watch, many congratulations, you have already achieved enlightenment!

Each of us will face this question at least once in a year.

"Why do you have so many watches? You can only wear one at a time!"

Very difficult choice. The final decision is between the GMTIIc and the POLM.

In the end, the POLM wins - not because it's the best watch or the most functional - but because it's the one with the most attachment.

couldn't do it. between personal connections and function, no one watch can meet enough criteria.

I am sure there will be many expensive, desirable, exotic and good looking watches posted.

However, if I had to keep one it would be my basic Citizen NY0040 as posted in another thread.
First watch I bought with my own money.
Robust, practical and different with crown at 8 o'clock.
Still working and cannot fault it as a watch.
May be a sentimental choice but one I stand by.

I used to think that it was my C60 Kingfisher because I bought it because of a very special person who was in my life. But I realize that I have other things that keep me connected to that person, so it makes my decision a lot easier. It'd be this:
