I understand made in collaboration with a golfer. Still I think he won $12m at the weekend, so it won’t trouble him.

Ooft, just saw the price on this AT, $48k  Much as I like grey, the dial is just too grey for me. Clever watch though with the telescopic crown etc.

Obscene as it is, McIlroy actually won $15m for the FedEx cup on Sunday :silent:

With the ridiculous prices of older 5-digit Rolex sports models, in the last couple of days I've been dreaming of a new 114060. I hated the chunky cases of the 6-digit subs when they first came out, but they're growing on me.

That's a nice photo, Paul. All I can say is that they look even nicer when you handle one! They catch the light in a very pleasing way which is hard to tell from any photo.

They sit very well on the wrist, but are not quite as wrist-hugging as the handwound C65s which have a slightly thinner case than these automatics.

Hope that helps your dreams! :)

I've been thinking of trading my Oysterdate:

For an Air King (borrowed picture):

What do we think?

I love the 6694 dial, but would prefer the security of sapphire.

I trust you’ll be offering the Breitling at a suitably discounted price to buy one, Paul?

Or, maybe a rethink of the ‘4 watches is plenty’ rule?

I prefer the Air-King as it looks more of a sportier, all-rounder, but you look to have a well-loved, crisp example of the Oysterdate, so definitely give it serious thought.

The breitling is staying mate as are the other 3 and the 4 watch golden rule will most likely stay in place meaning I will probably have to admire from afar. It is bloomin good looking tho!

Good advice. I was told this morning that the Air King has been sold, though, so I've avoided the decision, luckily. My Oysterdate is really minty, so I'd probably have regretted the trade.

Keep the oysterdate and buy a Smith's Everest MK2 when they get released

Not really dreaming about it as it's not particularly expensive but I did see these when they first came out and quite like the contrast between the silver dial and the red/black, and there are some still knocking about in the US.
The bezel lock 'thingy' is a bit wacky though.
