Time and money? I’ve spent most of mine on booze and women. The rest I just wasted…

Re: The "what watch are you day dreaming about now" thread
My relationship with Blancpain dive watches is a bit like the tale of Goldilocks and the three Bears!
I have tried on a few over the years and either found them too big or too small. The only one I tried that was “just right” was a boutique edition LE that was sold out upon release.
Yesterday I tried again. I really wanted it to be “just right”, as I liked everything about it. Unfortunately, whilst the wrist pics make it look bigger than it is and in reality it doesn’t overhang the top of my wrist, I still concluded it wasn’t quite right. Unfortunately still a dream unless BP decide to bring out a 40mm.
I had even already decided what watches to ditch, had it been “just right”.

Re: The "what watch are you day dreaming about now" thread
That would have been interesting Neil! I suspect that I may have preferred them to the BP. One of the very few occasions where our tastes differ but somehow I just can't get this one.
Maybe you should still have the clearout in readiness for something else. There's a lot of gooduns out there (although you already have a fair few of them!)

Cheers now, Paul

Now this is the LE that I really liked. I think in reality I know there are only a dozen brands that don’t feature in my rather “they all seem similar” collection, to quote Mrs nbg, that I would seriously consider trying at some point. BP is one of them and two others feature in the collection of a fine chap from Essex that I have met a couple of times.

Re: The "what watch are you day dreaming about now" thread
I've had a soft spot for Nomos ever since I was introduced to them through the forum and finally got the chance to see the range in the metal yesterday while loitering around Berlin.
The Orion had always been my pick of the bunch based on photos, but it lacked something in person.
Much to my surprise, it was the Tangente that caught my eye and now I would REALLY like one!
The attention to detail, given the simplicity of its design is top notch.

Re: The
Watches are funny things. I can clearly see that the Longines and the Smiths are very similar watches, and yet whilst I like the Smiths, it doesn't come close to how much I love the Longines.

Mind you I haven’t seen the Longines in the metal. I will keep a look out.sproughton wrote: ↑Sun Apr 07, 2019 9:32 amWatches are funny things.
