Re: The "what watch are you day dreaming about now" thread
I would really like one of these but not sure I want to pay £400 plus vat and handling
So I might get this aluminium bezel rather than ceramic and more wallet friendly price

Why not get it direct from Steinhart, Neil?

The 39mm version is a Gnomon exclusive Guy. Made by Steinhart, but not sold by them... And no, I don’t really understand it either.Bahnstormer_vRS wrote:Why not get it direct from Steinhart, Neil?

Re: The
Whilst Mrs nbg was shopping I called in to a local AD to remind them I would like to try a BB58. I had previously tried one on at the ADs Baselworld event, but wanted to make sure I liked it as much as I recall. Fortunately they had one I was able to try on.
Yep I think that for me it’s a perfectly proportioned watch, that fits better than my BBN. I have asked them to get me one for my birthday in February next year, so it will likely be the next watch I buy, as there is nothing else that interests me enough to buy at the moment.
The AD suggested that as only 3,000 ETA based BBNs were produced, I might as well lock it away and forget about it, unless I need to sell it.
I also tried on the new eggshell white dial OP. Whilst they only had the 34mm it was enough to show me that it’s a very attractive watch. At some stage, after I have sold a few watches, I may try and convince Mrs nbg that it would be ideal for her and claim back my DJ36. Picture from the internet.
Then tried on a few Bremonts in another AD, as I was keen to see the Airco Mach 3. I thought it looked great with its 40mm brushed case and matt blue dial. Certainly a watch I would consider as a pre-owned. Another internet pic. I didn’t realise it had a screw in crown, which is unusual for 100m WR Bremonts.
My three favourite watches that I tried on this morning were all matt dials, with a limited amount of polished surfaces on cases/dials. I guess that means I don’t favour bling watches.
Well only occasionally!

Re: The "what watch are you day dreaming about now" thread
Very interesting Neil.
I too am going to a Tudor AD Baselworld event in a week or so and am looking forward to trying on the BB58. I'll probably wear my own BBN to do a comparison. At first glance it looks quite similar with most obvious differences the colour of the bezel markings, no black ring on the crown. I assume the other main difference is the 39mm slimmer case. So overall not convinced it will be a watch I desire but that might change when I see it, you obviously don't see it as too close to your BBN.
I knew the BBN was quite rare so like you I won't be in any rush to sell it.
The white OP 39 is another one I really like at the moment, I think the one pictured is a 39mm but a 34mm would be a great size for a ladies watch, better not tell my wife in case she gets any ideas!

^^^^ Patrick, think that other than the differences you have mentioned, the only other one, other than the Rose/Shield switch, are the gilt, rather than white bezel markings.
Whilst I like the idea of my BBN, it is a bit too big/chunky for my ideal, so the chance to get something that is almost perfect for me is difficult to resist. I also tend to rotate three main watches over one or two weeks, keeping them all running, without the need for a winder - something that is more difficult with an ETA.
I know the Pelagos is bigger than the BBN, but that always seems ok to me, as it is a tool watch diver.
The chap in the AD said the BB58 would be “an ideal knockabout watch for when you don’t want to wear a Rolex”!

Re: The "what watch are you day dreaming about now" thread
^^^Neil, makes sense. The extra PR of the IHM over the ETA probably gives at least one extra day so I can see that is more useful. It will be good to try on the 58 in any case.

Dreaming of a bracelet rather than a watch. Want one for my 6694 Precision. Harder to source than I had hoped (and more expensive).

Re: The "what watch are you day dreaming about now" thread
Unfortunately not the Harrods showroom was busy when we browsed. My main watch related intention was to try a 114270 & 16570 later in the day at watch finder Mayfair. But despite showing as in stock online at this store they didn't have either model. We have two Tudor ADs 20 mins from home so next time we're in town I will. One dealer had two used models for ages but these have sold sincenbg wrote:Did you try one on then?neil8fletcher3 wrote:This since Wednesday

Neil the BB58 looks great I'm hoping when I've saved a bit they've extended the range to include blue and red bezels to make my decision even trickier.
As we're in the dreaming thread I'd like Tudor to announce a 39mm pelagos in blue, a modern version of the ranger below around 38mm or utilising the BB36 case if possible or a north flag without the integrated bracelet. All of these by the time I'm 40 would be awesome
