Truth is I don’t know for sure, but I understand it was just a prototype that wasn’t intended for production.

It’s certainly different and as a great fan of Moser, I have never been able to get the SS version of the Pioneer out of my head. A view reinforced when I tried one on.

Having a few thoughts on this one, to support an organisation that does sterling work all year round;-

I can see how this would fit in your collection Guy..
As a long time supporter of the RNL, I wanted to like this more in order to break my firm (self imposed) no buying watches for the moment edict.

I keep coming back to the steel pioneer. I'm lucky enough to have an AD nearby and have tried it on 2 or 3 times in the last year.

However, the one thing that always strikes me - and prevents me from thinking seriously about pulling the trigger - is how shiny the dial is.

The pics online give the impression of a matte fume dial, but in reality it is a really shiny sunbursty fume. Combined with the polished case it's just too much bling and puts me right off. If they made a matte dial I would be all over it.

Anyway, at the moment the Moser has been usurped by this AT. If anyone owns one, I'd love to hear your thoughts on it.

I've been hankering after a bronze watch recently. But I want something with a simple design, so it's easier to clean off any patina if I want to. And, as it's a bit experimental, then I don't want one that's too expensive. This leaves me sorely tempted by this 42mm one:

I quite agree, Paul – an astonishing achievement!

I imagine one aspect of the watch is not exactly thin, and that will be the stack of notes you would need to handover to get within range of one.

Just nooooo.

Surely, you can do better than that, Steve.

Got to be a microbrand/Kickstarter out there that will do the job for you. I'll find something.

Unlike Guy I think that’sa decent looking watch and although I haven’t looked I doubt it will be silly money. Definitely worth a punt Steve

I believe Piaget's new Wonder Thin is circa 450,000 Euro. New benchmark in Euro / mm of thickness.
Quite remarkable though.
A. Lange & Sohne's latest 20-complications release is the same price....Collusion? :)

High end brands sell very expensive watches to the very wealthy!
