I used to think 42 was massive. Now I wear the 42 Speedy and the 43 Trident a lot.

With the 6 digit Exp II, the bulk comes from the oversized lugs/shoulders. Although perfectly wearable, mine always felt a bit big, and the 40mm version is definitely my preference.

If you’re dreaming of a Konstantin Chaykin Joker then this is probably the stuff of nightmares

It’s not often that Invicta features in this thread (for those of a sensitive disposition, don’t click on the link :sabber:)

I must admit I am edging towards the Exp I mainly because I would be unwilling to take the Exp II to a lot of places as a travel watch. Which kind of defeats the object of having a GMT in the first place!

Probably a biased response, as I own one, but I would say that the Explorer is the more versatile watch of the 2, that is, can be worn smart or casual.
...albeit I've always hankered after a Explorer II.

Sometimes, Steve, when presented with a choice, the answer is to choose both...

The 39mm 214270 and the 40mm 16570. A perfect pair. :D

I think the 16570 is a more discrete watch than the 216570 - and therefore, could be worn in most places without attracting attention.

Having said all of that, I do have fond memories of the 42mm 216570...

6-digit Rolexes are awesome. 5-digit ones are more awesome.

Edit: 4-digit ones are more more awesome.

Apologies for my complete lack of Photoshop skills, but this would be a winner for me...the C65 GMT Irn-Bru!

PS. Hasn't been made and I doubt if it will be. Chris, Mike, Adrian, are you reading? :D

Pester them to get a prototype bezel knocked up Steve and let them know you would happily purchase it should they not feel it is fit for production

edit - oh, but make sure they give the white 3 o'clock marker a wide berth. Looks odd

Make all the markers white (not just the 3 o’clock  ) instead of vintage and I’m in

The watches currently occupying my obsessive refreshes of eBay and Chrono24:

- Oris Divers Sixty-Five - Black/Blue Dial
- Seiko Prospex Turtle - Anthracite Dial
- Smiths Everest PRS-25

I'm a simple man with simple vintage tastes

I keep dreaming about the day I pull the trigger on my personal Trinity: submariner, speedmaster, Navitimer.
