2015 FLE - Next Steps

Post by downer »

Now that you have chosen the C5S design for the 2015 FLE, we need to finalise a few details.

Our intention is to run a further series of polls:

1. Crystal Specification

- Museum Grade Crystal for an additional cost (approx. £x/$x)
or
- Standard C5S Crystal

2. Dial Text

- SLIMLINE
- LIMITED EDITION
- FORUM LE
- No text
- something else??

3. Caseback text

- Forum Limited Edition xx of xxx
- Limited Edition xx of xxx
- Keep as Standard (serial number only)
- Something else??

We will create all of these polls to run concurrently, leaving sufficient time for voting. We will allow a single vote in each poll.

At the conclusion of these polls, and when everything is finalised, we are thinking of running a final poll to establish how many members are interested in buying the watch.

So, that's the planned process over the next couple of weeks.

However, before we start the polls, we are interested to know:

- Do we need to run polls on any other details?
- Any (sensible) alternative suggestions for dial text or caseback text?

What about a nod to this year's anniversary - "Celebrating 10 years" ?

On the dial or on the caseback?

CW already has 10th anniversary models. Not sure I see the forum watch as specifically celebrating that. Unless it brings a discount of course :D

Don't give too many options - folks will still ask for more. Keep it simple.

Would there be a standard strap that we need to vote on or would it be based on current c5 choices?

Current thinking is that the FLE would be available with the standard C5S choices - black, brown, blue - and upgrade possibilities for alligator and bader clasp.

I can't think of anything else that we'd need to vote on - other than whether it should be yellow! (joking!) :)

Not keen on any reference to the 10th anniversary personally, the FLE doesn't feel relevant to that to me.

Could do with the photoshop experts to give us some visual representations of the different faces case backs etc.

I like how dainty the limited edition is on the fle 09 face and case back

Not relevant IMHO as CWL anniversary is 10th in 2014: whereas we've only had 5 forum LEs, with this being the sixth; plus it is technically the 2015 Forum LE.

I think we can assume the dial text would be in the same font/size as the current "SLIMLINE"

Image

For the caseback text, there is plenty of room. I guess the font would be the same as "SWISS MADE" and current serial number.

Of course, other things are possible, but the more we deviate from standard, the more we face the risk of cost increases.

If there is anyone who would like to mock up photoshops for the alternative dial texts, it may be helpful, but I don't think it is vital.

Seeing the picture of the back reminds me of its nice clean simplicity...would anyone else think it would be good to retain SWISS MADE and then maybe put something simple underneath like 'FLE XXX/100'?

'Caseback text' under SWISS MADE of xx/xxx with 2015 Forum Limited Edition in the 12 o'clock position?
