General Discussion - 2015 FLE
Re: General Discussion - 2015 FLE
Well, we have two very different candidates for our 2015 FLE. I'm both pleased and disappointed: pleased that dials other than black made the final: disappointed that my choice didn't. Either of these will be popular, I'm sure. Looking at the C5 candidate: is the rose gold on it similar to the discontinued C9? If so, it definitely works. I've never owned a yellow dial in my life; so will this be my first.

That was certainly the colouring that I had in mind when it was kindly designed by Goose!theaub wrote:Well, we have two very different candidates for our 2015 FLE. I suspect that is unlikely the C60s / C65s don't have a display back...magicman wrote:Sorry if this has been revealed/discussed earlier, will the C65 have a display back ?

I had totally forgotten about the C9 with the rose gold numbers and blue seconds hand!Magnus wrote:That was certainly the colouring that I had in mind when it was kindly designed by Goose!theaub wrote:....Looking at the C5 candidate: is the rose gold on it similar to the discontinued C9? With the odds that the C5 #20, with its unique dial and rose gold hands / indices, will push the price up a bit vs. a standard C5, BUT that the C65 #5 is £100 more expensive to start with; this ought to mean that there is not a significant difference in the cost of the two finalists.
Either will be a distinctive, worthy winner which I will be happy to buy.

Re: General Discussion - 2015 FLE
Well done to both watches, but sadly the design I was voting for has been knocked out!
As I wouldn't buy either of the two in the final, I think it's only right that I don't vote in the next round and knock out one that someone else was hoping to buy!
I'll continue my search for a Blue C6 or Blue 2012 FLE.........

Was there a unique dial mentioned for the #20? I thought it was just optic white colour?Bahnstormer_vRS wrote:With the odds that the C5 #20, with its unique dial and rose gold hands / indices, will push the price up a bit vs. a standard C5, BUT that the C65 #5 is £100 more expensive to start with; this ought to mean that there is not a significant difference in the cost of the two finalists.

It's unique in that it has minute markers that are not on any other C5; plus they are in Rose Gold.Soulspawn wrote:Was there a unique dial mentioned for the #20? Re: General Discussion - 2015 FLE
If you look at the C5 MkII, the standard model is £399 and the one with gold markers and hands is £415. So I would expect at least that amount extra on a standard C5 Slimline model. The dial may be OK as they have already produced a 40mm sample of the C9 5 day dial so the cost of that may not be much, if at all. But just speculation.
As the C65 is using a standard design with just a colour change to the dial then perhaps that should not be too difficult (assuming they can get the right shade) to produce.
As always we will have to get figures from CWL.

The C5, if it wins, will give fans of that color scheme a chance to wear a more traditionally-sized dress watch. I do hope the C5 wins but I must say a yellow watch is deliciously different. How do you wear a yellow watch casually, though?
