MiniMpi - March 2020

Post by MiniMpi »

Long overdue for an SOTC update !

4 pieces have left since my last update, the C9 5 Day COSC, C8 Flyer MK2 Quartz, Slimline Square and the C60 MK2 Burgundy Bezel.

They made way for 10 new additions !!
Yes TEN !!

The Vintage Rolex 912 'Tank' which I inherited, C1 GM 5 Day COSC, C7 COSC LE, C70 HDRC, C60 Ombré #001, C9 AM GT LE #001, C60 Pro MK3, C65 Trident Diver, C5 MK3 Automatic and the purchase to celebrate my 50th birthday the C65 Trident Diver SH21 LE #070/150.

I have been slightly excessive in the last year in particular perhaps lol
I have two further additions on my list but it will be a while before they are added :
The C65 Pepsi GMT & the C65 Dartmouth in original Blue.

I invested in a new style CW 8 piece watch box to try and accommodate the recent arrivals.

I am now up to 21 CWs and 22 watches in total.

I am extremely happy with my current collection and never in my wildest dreams could I ever have thought back in April 2011 when I started this horology hobby that I'd have a collection as fantastic as I do now.

Contents of 15 piece watch box :

Top row : C7 Bluebird, C70 Ascari, C70 HDRC, C7 COSC LE, C7 Rapide MK3 Prototype.

Middle row : C60 Ombré, C60 316L LE, C60 Titanium V2, C60 MK2 GMT, C60 Pro MK3.

Bottom row : C9 Jumping Hour MK3, C1 GM 5 Day COSC, C9 AM GT LE, C65 Trident Diver, C65 Trident Diver SH21 LE.

Contents of 8 piece watch box :

Top row : C8 Vintage MK2, C600 Tri-Tech Elite, C5 MK3 Automatic.

Bottom row :

C11 Titanium Elite, C8 UTC Worldtimer, C65 MK1 LE, Vintage Rolex 912 'Tank'.

Totally top notch Ferg, some very fine pieces you have indeed, Sir.

I really like your most recent, the C65 Trident Diver SH21 LE, as not only is it the iconic SH21 5 day movement, but it has heft and wrist presence over and above the regular C65 Trident Diver.

I'm sure you've had fun putting your collection together thus far, and trust you succeed in obtaining your future pieces.

Congratulations Ferg and loved the deep dive into your collection. From a value for the dollar perspective......I think you have a tough collection to beat!

Enjoyed the post.

Great collection of CW's Ferg from through the years.

My favourites, which partly reflect ones I've owned myself, are - C7 mk3 Prototype, C60 Ombre (wearing my C65 Ombre today :) ), C1 GM, C65 SH21, C11 Elite, C65 LE. Not to mention the Rolex Tank 8)

I'm sure I've said it before but you are a great CW brand ambassador!
