How does the power reserve indication work on these?
On regular Kinetics it uses the second hand, I'm guessing with these is does something within the dial?

OK. So is the gauge pattern on the dial purely decorative?

Re: StrapMeister Other SOTC 26-12-2018
That’s the original kinetic style - most earlier ones had that in one form or another. But once you know how the battery check works, the “gauge” is pretty much cosmetic, yes. Fortunately, I like it.
Having said that, I once spoke with a Kinetic owner who swore that you *had* to press the button with the second hand at 12, otherwise it might be inaccurate. No amount of reasoning or demonstrations would get him to believe otherwise.
For him, at least, it was not merely decorative.

I can now see what you mean. Pressing the button at 12 and the pattern becomes a background power reserve indicator.

Some lovely watches in this collection! Must admit I like that Chopard a lot.

Thanks Richard
The CHOPARD (Grand Prix de Monaco Historique Power Control) is one of my favourites
It's a lovely watch and being titanium (case) and stainless steel is very light and comfortable to wear (albeit it's quite tall at 14.10 mm).
