A year or so ago I bought a lovely vintage Cauny chrono from one of the members and it's worked perfectly well until recently.
Unfortunately, the date wheel has stopped working and the date is now permanently stuck on the 29th.
Can anyone recommend a watch repairer that could help with this?
If not, at least the date will be right once a month

Watchguy.co.uk and his former apprentice Mitka.co.uk are both very highly thought of on the Omega forum. Prices aren’t cheap but you can decide whether you think they offer value for money when you see what they can do - their websites show detailed histories of their work. They really respect vintage watches.

+2 for WatchGuy. Did a great job on my Breitling Top Time and my son's old Tissot. You'll have fun getting a slot, but worth it for the fully documented and photographed repair.

Watch guy is good but too expensive for such a watch.
Try Richard Askham, the watch spot.

Another post asked a similar question, and some recommendations were made there too:

Is there a case for a sticky thread for this kind of request? I’m not sure if I would be able to find this thread again when the time comes that I need it.

Re: Watch repairer needed
Reviving an old thread, but on the basis of some of the recommendations here I sent my late father's old Camy of 1950s vintage to Richard Askham for service, clean and to replace a broken crystal.
My dad wore this watch every day until his worstening polio-induced wobbles caused him to crack it against a railing in the mid 80's and he wore a cheap Casio from that point on. To have it looking well and beating away strongly once more is a great feeling.
Can't recommend Richard enough, I'm utterly delighted with the service I've received, the communications with Rich and the end result.
