Vintage Junghans,with early quartz

Time is set in two different stages : first position of crown sets hours in one hour jumps up and down. Date is also set this way. Second position of the crown sets minutes in usual way .ImageImageImage

Yup.

Favourite part: indices. They look like floating monolithes of extraterrestrial Stonehenge on one of the Jupiter's frozen moons ( SciFi yada yada)

I agree, that’s a beautiful watch.
Is it a front loading monocoque case?

Nope

Press in caseback. But you have to use pump tool to push it out and back in.

That's really stylish, fabulous dial.

Has given me an idea about something I saw last night.

Not quite here but on way...

Levrette Super Compressor

(Seller's pictures)

Rough on dial but still, iconic part of vintage dive history
