2013 FLE Progress Report # 15

Post by Kip »

I know it has been awhile since the last report. I apologize for that.

I see the repeated questions and I understand why they keep getting asked, but if I have nothing new to say it seems pointless to keep repeating myself to you. I assure you I have not been ignoring this FLE. Nobody asks more questions as to the status then the FLEC does.

Certainly the plan was to have this watch in your hands some time ago. Unfortunately, due to a myriad of circumstances, priority changes and some spec issues, we are still waiting for the 2013 FLE to appear.

Chris offers his sincere apology for the delays. He also has reassured me, and the FLEC, that the watch will appear as we have requested and designed. There were some final issues with the rehaut that have caused the most current delay.

While production has restarted, Chris does not have the final prototype photos and is trying to get them from the factory so we can get them posted. With all the delays, and the pending annual August shutdown in Switzerland, we are now looking at a mid to end September delivery. Not what anyone wants to hear, but that is where we are.

This has been a very long process and in the end I believe it will be a great looking watch. We started early in hopes of squeezing this into the production schedule but things just haven't gone as well as hoped despite the design process going very smoothly and efficiently.

Your personal options remain the same as always. You may keep saving and hope that the delivery date is reasonably accurate....you may just wait and see what happens...or you can cancel your reservation if you feel you must.

Regardless of your personal decision, I still believe in the process. All things within the control of the FLEC have been accomplished........we just have to wait.

When we get any news, or whatever the news that comes forth, you will be the second to know.

Fair enough. I hope this will rekindle interest which appears to have been waning recently.

No change from here, still looking forward to getting my hands on one, irrespective of when that is.

Still awaiting the photos of the prototypes - the one thing I have learned from other FLEs is that the watches look even better in real life than the drawings suggest - at the moment the drawings leave me slightly unsure, but I am hoping to love the photos - roll on that day!

Thanks for the update Kip. For the moment I'm still in - I say 'for the moment' not out of impatience or frustration - simply because the longer it takes, the more temptations appear in the regular CW line up, and the more difficult it becomes to hold onto the funds ;-)

In all seriousness, completely understand the delays are beyond anyone's control!

I'm also still up for it but the exchange rate is doing me in. Now vs 3 months ago has added almost 20% to the cost. I hope it doesn't get worse.

Aside from that, dependant on prototype pictures, I'm in.
New to all of this, but it beats studying.
