Hybrid strap V2
Hybrid strap V2
Hi,
Is the current version of the Hybrid strap noticeably more comfortable than the original ? What did they change ?
I have a couple of the first gen ones, and as much as I want to love them, I end up removing and wearing something else.
If the new ones are better I may consider buying one.
Thanks for the feedback.

Re: Hybrid strap V2
I haven’t tried the mk1 but my Dartmouth came on the mk2 hybrid which I wore it on for a week or so before swapping to a bracelet. I believe they changed to a more flexible softer material. I certainly found the strap comfortable and didn’t have any issues that a number of mk1 owners reported.

I can’t compare, because I never had the first type. I’ve had the second one on one of my watches for weeks now, and it’s absolutely fine.

Re: Hybrid strap V2
I have both and the Mk 2 is thinner and more supple and a bit more comfortable. That said I found the Mk 1 ok, too. It just needed breaking in a bit first

Re: Hybrid strap V2
I've had / got both.
The V_2 is definitely thinner and more supple, resulting in it being more comfortable.
However, for me, I can't get on with the tracked profile on the underside, or the block profile on the Hirsch performance straps for that matter, and therefore don't use them.

The mark 2 was very uncomfortable for me. However once bedded in its fine!!
Re: Hybrid strap V2
I am wearing a V2 today for the only the second time and I have to say I find it incredibly comfortable. I also think it looks and feels superb.

Re: Hybrid strap V2
I got a C60 Elite GMT 1000 with a hybrid MK2 strap recently.
I took it on holiday for a week and have found it to be very comfortable.
Bear in mind that I usually hate rubber straps !
I did find that I wore it looser than I normally would, by maybe one hole and it made a world of a difference.

Having been the proud ownder of a C60 GMT 600 on a hybrid for three weeks, I can confirm that the strap gets more comfortable as you wear it.
I'm not sure if it's the rubber or my skin that's being broken in!
My one comment is that the embossed two flags logo is the single most uncomfortable part of the strap - if that were moved to the tapered end, it would be perfect from day one.
I love the colourway and think it suits the watch perfectly - I'd just rather not be branded with an imprint of the CW logo, much as I'm a huge fan.

Re: Hybrid strap V2
Hello and welcome. I’ve been wearing one of the straps quite a lot for the last couple of months. I haven’t noticed any imprint, so it may be that you tend to wear the strap fairly tight. If you can stand it a little bit looser, it might be worth trying it on the next hole out.

Hi,
Thanks for the quick response.
I am wearing it fairly loose tbh, but it’s still leaving a mark (albeit much less pronounced than this time last week).

Re: Hybrid strap V2
I tried the hybrid v1 on the c65 trident then ended up springing for the blue shell cordovan with deployant clasp. I used the hybrid on the c60 bronze for awhile, but ended up having one made out of horween cromexcel to replace. Just too uncomfortable. With that said - I’m willing to try the v2... dive watches look good on rubber and metal.

Reporting back in after another few days. The strap is getting more and more comfortable which is great because it just goes so well with the watch.

Re: Hybrid strap V2
^^^ Good news, Will. Thanks for reporting back. Mine is being swapped out now that the cooler weather seems to be descending upon us. I prefer leather in winter, or at least when it’s not hot, but the hybrid worked really well in the warm weather. As I bought it to go on what is essentially a holiday watch, I will know when the time finally comes to go somewhere that it works well.

Re: Hybrid strap V2
So it turns out I had the V1 strap... I didn’t realise the version change was so recent
It’s been sold and I’ve splashed out on a V2: I couldn’t be happier with it. It’s lightweight, good looking and very comfortable. Well done Christopher Ward.
