I really don't think you can blame CW for the canvas getting dirty. That's just silly really. As for the fraying, it's canvas, it frays. Most canvas straps are meant to fray as they wear.

Yes but, the first versions of the canvas strap were very quick to go shabby.

I wasn't blaming cw for the strap getting dirty, it happens, that's life.Paul Drawmer wrote: ↑Mon Jul 06, 2020 7:19 amYes but, the first versions of the canvas strap were very quick to go shabby.
I also don't mind a little fraying. But it just looks scruffy, and trying to clean it just made it fray more to a point that it was distracting from the overall appearance of the watch, so, new strap inbound.

To each his own I guess. I've been looking at a SteveO Para strap, which is designed to fray as part of the look. I guess that lok isn't for you.Ian Mc wrote: ↑Mon Jul 06, 2020 8:37 amI wasn't blaming cw for the strap getting dirty, it happens, that's life.Paul Drawmer wrote: ↑Mon Jul 06, 2020 7:19 amYes but, the first versions of the canvas strap were very quick to go shabby.

I bought a trident bronze with a hybrid strap, but the hybrid strap is now on a Raymond Weil blue and white chrono. I think it looks super. One of my favourite looks for the trident is a plain navy blue perlon, but I wear it with various NATO's of all colours.

Mine came on a hybrid, but I have put that on a different watch, and I have assorted NATO's and perlons for the bronze. Virtually anything looks ok, even if the colour clashes, but I actually really like a cheap navy perlon I have.

Re: The search for a strap for my C60 bronze.
OK, I've changed again. The previous ebay strap was rubbish. It has gone really dark and greasy in just a few months. Also I think it was a thin leather skin on some sort of backing. I'll take a knife to it later.
I have now bought a suede strap and a distressed leather from Watch Gegko.
Here's the suede. Colours in this photo are weird. The watch isn't pink, It's just the natural dark brown of a few years patina of use. The strap is a light tan. I have given it a few sprays with suede shoe leather protector, but I really do expect it to change over time. At the moment, I like it, and yes, I've put the Bader clasp on it. It isn't as yellow as the picture!

Re: The search for a strap for my C60 bronze.
I think the colours might be slightly incorrect because it looks like night time on your picture. You can get a different light temperature at different times of the day.
Anyway, my bronze came with a hybrid strap, which I have on another watch. I use NATO's and perlons, absolutely any colour. I don't care about a colour clash, although if you want a good match, a plain grey or navy blue look good. it's getting a bit late in the day to take some shots, but I will get a few different pictures uploaded when the light is better tomorrow.
Good luck with your strap hunting.

Re: The search for a strap for my C60 bronze.
I've been following your thread Paul as I'm always on the lookout for new straps.
After trying a rubber strap on my bronze which looked decent enough, I stumped up for a CW hybrid.
Have to say, I think it looks great. It's not the old rough n ready look you're aiming for, but would recommend trying one out at some point.
Can't see mine coming off it now ...

Oh that does look good Ryan.
I'm not sure I can fit my Bader deployant though
