It’s that time of year when I throw my black & brown Hirsch Arne strap on my C65 Vintage. The humid summers outside of DC can be brutal on a leather strap, so this one is perfect. The textured leather facing is elegant with some visual interest, and the rubber underside is indestructible. Add to that the channels in the rubber, and my wrist remains cool and sweat free. This is a real contrast to my CW rubber strap that while quite robust is also quite hot.
This might actually be my favorite overall strap, and I have a few! (The added CW butterfly deployant is an added bonus!)

How long have you been running that may I ask? I am interested in acquiring a couple.jkbarnes wrote: ↑Sun May 12, 2019 3:14 pm It’s that time of year when I throw my black & brown Hirsch Arne strap on my C65 Vintage. I was also wondering if CW's new hybrid is manufactured by Hirsch....if anybody knows or can compare the two and deduce? The rubber backing technology does look very similar and I do know that Hirsch supply a good deal of OEMs, eg Fortis.

I don’t have the Arne, but I do own a couple of the ‘James’ straps. I’ve been using my dark brown one on my C65 Classic for 18 months on and off. It’s still like new and is probably the most comfortable strap I own.

Re: My favorite strap?
I’ve had it about a year now. It stayed on my C65 Trident Vintage from late spring through early fall last year, and I’ll do the same this year.H0rati0 wrote: ↑Sun May 12, 2019 5:03 pm How long have you been running that may I ask? I am interested in acquiring a couple.

Unlike the CW hybrid, the Arne is leather, not cordura. The leather is quite flexible, as is the rubber, thanks to its unique pattern (see the attached picture). The pattern of the rubber also makes it quite comfortable against the skin as it allows for air to circulate and sweat to evaporate. It’s much better than a full rubber strap against ones skin.
My only complaint is a lack of quick release pins. Fitting the strap has been a challenge for me. But that may be a result of operator error, not the strap!

That is what in fact has put me off so far - we're getting spoilt!
