First, a warning:
You may not want to know. It's kinda ... jazz. ;)

OK, if you got here, it will be at your own peril.
This is what I am listening to right now:

Allan Holdsworth (6 August 1946 – 15 April 2017)

Not just guitar pyrotechnics, but guitar pyrotechnics charged to the brim with emotion, so much it's dripping out at the seams. This bloke, originating from Bradford, West Yorkshire, would turn out to be "his own self-contained musical universe, playing solos and chords he invented over scales he invented" (Guthrie Govan) and "the most interesting guitar guy on the planet" (Frank Zappa).

@peterh - interesting choice.

Bit too far on the Avante Guard side of Jazz for my liking, prefer Trad., and never associated Electric Guitar with Jazz either.

That said, quite a good listen.

Have recently resurrected some CDs and a CD player, now listening to The Kinks - The Ultimate Collection, which is a definitive compilation of their best songs. Ray Davies is a song-writing / story-telling genius and the music epitomises the 60s and (per the sleeve notes) a relative quiet journey through the 70s to the early 80s.

It got a little oodly doodly for me as well. Cos I'm old, I like stuff I don't have to think about too much. The one issue I have is with Autotune (Antares), simply can't listen to anything autotuned and unfortunately that's most of the stuff produced now, very few singers not using it.

This might be too obscure for most but it's a classic Cure track

I remember sitting at a table with him at a Pub in Anchor Square Shepperton (can't remember the name now) but it was our regular place to go around 10:30 and stay till late. He and a few of his mates were regulars there. He looked quite striking in real life as well, but was otherwise quite a normal guy.
