Let's get it back on track with a proper rock band (Metallica that is, not the SFSO)

Good one Patrick. Not a version I've heard before.

^^^Actually Kari, those SNS guys are very good musicians and that is very listenable...possibly sacrilege to some die hard fans of the bands whose songs they are covering though!

Agreeing, guys are good with their instruments and it was quite enjoyable seem them live. But IMO the band would benefit from a better singer.

Had this on in the car yesterday, turned up LOUD, nearly blew the doors off.

Got me thinking; the first 2:15 mins solo intro is iconic and one of my favourites.
What's your favourite into?

mine's another pink floyd song - shine on you crazy diamond. i love that the 'intro' feels like most of the track and includes 'the instrumental' before a word is even sung. then - finally - 'remember when you were young...... you shone like the sun'.............
dance-music-wise i'd say 'pump up the jam' by technotronic

or the piano swoosh at the start of 'dancing queen' by abba that gets everyone up on the dance floor

I’ll second this one. It’s my all time favourite song (in all its various versions) from my absolute favourite band. I just love the way that it slowly builds and builds and then finally the vocals kick in and I’ll agree with Lindsey, it’s almost as though another song just starts up without a pause. Mind you it’s in 9 parts, in two lengthy pieces (Pts i-v & vi-is) that basically bookend the rest of the album. Love it...
