How to......

Post by Bungle-ator »

No, not a science based TV show for kids.

How to.......tell the wife of major incoming that you paid for 6 weeks ago?

Preferences would be to avoid the spare room. I've got a week to do this.

You’re in the right place to ask!
watching you fail in your quest for a “one watch” has been great entertainment

You bought it before the current crisis but was on a long lead time, most of the cost was covered by trading in another watch, you paid for it with a big win on the horses, other lies are available....or simply just don't tell her

"Gambling" pays for all my watches

Reckon I'm just going to have to pretend I get a phone call on Friday  :D

Maybe;
I traded in 1 or 2 of my existing..
I took it in part ex against the x watch i sold (great deal and im up).
It was a silly price as they needed to raise cash quickly.
Or just accept the wrath with a little of the above to soften the blow and make sure theres fresh bedding in the spare room.. 😅

Perhaps a night or two in the spare room with a decent pair of noise-cancelling headphones might be preferable to the tongue lashing you are likely to get in the conjugal boudoir.

A few of you have quite clearly been here before

Thanks for the suggestions. Hopefully if my back allows (banjoed it last week) I'll be back at work in a couple of days and I can make up a phone call with an invitation to buy on Monday next week. Boom. Shiny new watch on Monday afternoon without a grumpy Mrs.

"What? This thing. Been in the box for ages. Surprised you haven't noticed if before."

It's worked for me on a number of occasions :D

I could get away with that if it was a gshock or something but I don't nearly have enough watches to pull it off with anything else. She knows I've been waiting on this watch, she just doesn't know that I bought it weeks ago. We discussed it and circumstances made us both a bit uneasy but after more research and a surprise discount I had a weak moment and pulled the trigger.

I can tell the future and I think I'm going to get a call from an AD on Friday. Reckon I'll arrange to go "buy" it on Monday 😁

Ah, if she knows, that definitely changes the game.

I think your plan sounds like the best course of action
