As things open up some

Post by Noush »

Here in Australia we start to loosen up some restrictions. Slowly...

Tomorrow, Sunday here, I spend some time (in a park setting) with my daughter and 3 (and a half) year old grandson for the first time in literally months. He's been pestering apparently which is nice.
SO looking forward of course. What it will be like NOT bear-hugging either of them in the usual way we will see I guess.

Is the NRL still on target for a May 28th start? Everything I’m reading here in the UK suggests so.

It is. AFL 2 weeks later. We will see how that all goes. Personally I don't care. :)
Bundesliga starts this weekend so that suits me.

Weird, isn’t it? I seem to have managed to forget completely about sport. I think the last thing I watched was the final 6 Nations match.

We're allowed to meet up 'one to one' in a park or similar now BUT have to maintain our distance.

Don't see the point, its just too tempting to embrace.

I'd prefer to stick to no contact and make do with phone / video calls.

Well I can report that spending a couple of hours with "the kids" was just lovely.
Frustrating to go without physical contact but the psyche seems intact. Physical "presence" was a biggie, Guy....

It's a painful wait for the bookies top re-open and it's still a long way off.

Thanks.

Food for thought.

Virtual greyhound and horse racing on SKY Bet - it’s strangely enjoyable at the moment

I guess the issue would be having any sporting events to bet on. Are online bookies not still active during the lockdown? There is now the German and South Korean football to bet on, as well of course as the Belarus league which has never stopped (the Belarusian president recommended drinking more vodka to ward off coronavirus  ).

^^^^^^there have always been things to bet on for the desperados. Football and horse racing is slowly coming back. They didn't just not stop in Belarus, the actually started the new season when everyone else was shutting down. Their President reckoned you just need vodka and saunas to stay healthy.
Online isn't any good for me unfortunately. I basically trade horses in shops all week and then abuse bonuses for the weekend. It's a very nice second income with little effort.
I suspect our bookies won't be open until September at the earliest.

Picked up these at a local brewery this weekend. Things are starting to open up in the Northeastern US too.

From a personal perspective, I'm very glad to hear that :)

You work with a bookie online? I'm stake limited to zero with most online, tends to be the way if you know what you're doing.
