Ebels are a lot like women that lack a lowcut dress that zips up the side..neither gets the love that they deserve..

Mandatory face masks. Makes sense when the R rate is so high tbh! Such incredibly poor handling of the pandemic in the US.

Very true. It’s an embarrassment, really.

True, although the forum rules prevent pointing fingers at why

Not if you just stick to an answer from a public health perspective: :)

- from a public health perspective it would have been a good idea to have gone into lockdown 2 weeks earlier
- from a public health perspective it would have been a good idea if the findings of exercise Cygnus had been acted upon in all respects
- from a public health perspective it would have been a good idea not to have run down the pandemic stockpile of PPE
- from a public health perspective it would have been better to add resource to the existing public health teams, who know how to trace contacts, as it’s an established part of what they do
- from a public health perspective mandatory face coverings in certain situations would have been a good idea.
- from a public health perspective having an established number of normal and ITU beds in keeping with a population of our size would have been a good thing.

Still the building of the various Nightingale hospitals in such a timescale was a fantastic achievement.

Not a good half term report. Let’s hope it improves from here on in.

Oh re. relative performance in the cases and deaths table, has anyone else wondered why the recorded deaths are so low in a handful of countries with very high recorded cases? :problem:

Ah I get it... in public health terms it would have been good to have specific and consistent guidance for all to follow.

Frankly I think only New Zealand has done it right from the outset!

Darn, I was hoping you'd take her off our hands

Yes NZ have done it well, they do have a bit of an advantage being a relatively geographically remote island (as compared to our own) but nevertheless you have to admire them.

I am classed as an essential worker ( not a key worker ) we have been open the whole time of the lock down and been run ragged. I have noticed a big difference in people’s attitude towards staff members over the last couple of weeks, people are getting very angry over trivial things. We have asked customers to leave the store and even threatened to call the police once. It’s getting very silly :(

 Lockdown has been such a unique experience. Stressful for everyone in very different ways and pent up for 3 months. Misdirecting that as anger into the faces of essential workers is **** out of order. Perhaps the situation might be calling on us to grow up a bit emotionally.

A week on from the pubs opening in the UK....

Has anyone yet paid a visit?

We went yesterday lunchtime. Only open outside. Place order at a half open window near the door. Pick up drinks from the normal outside serving hatch. Sit at a well spaced table by the river. :)

A small pieces of normality, even though the Pandemic has yet to reach its peak In many parts of the world.
