Newbie - help required!

Post by missF »

Hi everyone- hope you’re all enjoying springtime. I’m still in hospital trying to figure out what combination of meds is going to work, but it takes forever. I’Ve developed a chronic pain syndrome too...... how long ‘chronic’ means I don’t know, because it’s connected to the brain cells above neck level too. In short my whole nervous system - brain and body- have taken a. A bit of a beating. As ever the nurses are amazing.

So my newbie question is this - I just got a iPhone 6. But I don’t know how it works
Can I send a pic from my phone straight to the form without going via imgur or such??

(I can the groans of Rdfm but it’s beyond me right now to figure it out by myself......this morning I asked for my meds only to found out i’d Been given them already an hour ago ....,.,)

Onwards!! :D

How to attach a photo into a post, direct from a phone.

NB> example done using Firefox browser on an Android phone, but it ought to be the same (I hope) on an iPhone.

Start on the Web browser version of the Forum

Image

Click on the 'Full Editor and Preview'

Image

Look to the bottom and the two tabs of 'Options' and 'attachments'

Image

Click on 'attachments'

Image

Click on 'add files' which takes you to your Album.

Select your photo, which gets attached.

Image

Make sure you can see the file name of the photo and there is a green tick at the bottom of the box.

Click on 'place in-line'

Image

To confirm the photo is added to the post you will see the photo file name flanked at both ends by Attachment in square brackets.

Add the text for your post. i.e. 'Test post'.

Image

Check everything and click 'submit'.

Image

Hope that makes sense and works.

Regards, Guy

Thank you Guy! I’m almost there but not quite by the looks of it..... if you can see a watch it’s a tissot powermativ 80. A really handsome watch with full day ( top window ) and date in the bottom window that looks like a smile 😀 and an 80 hour power reserve. 100m WR. Black fitted strap with tiny orange stitching on a deployant class.
I read somewhere that this is a dress watch, but it’s not. It’s handsome, yes, but the strap and the 100WR make it at a suitable level of beef for whatever you want to wear it for. I’m going to get this one a toshi strap in petroleum colour to tone down the very earnest black.

I loved the look of this when I found it but there were a few more in contention. This was the right one because i’ve Been wearing my skx since I got hear and it was fantastic to have a day/ date for the days when I don’t know whether i’m Coming or going.

Since you all can find the most trivial reasons for buying a watch, i’m Buying this because I may be psychiatric and institutionalised; I may completely forget writing this post by time I finish, but I still know a good looking watch when I see one! :)

Good to hear from you missF.

There is also the app called Tapatalk, which lets you manage several forums (if you follow several). Very easy to use, you simply log in to this forum with the same username and password that you normally use. And then it is very easy to post pictures from the phone. You simply choose from the album via the app. The app is free to use.

When I saw this was you Lindsey, I had to laugh. Newbie?

Great to hear from you. Our best wishes and prayers continue.

Glad to see you were able to get a new watch. Don't be a stranger.

Great to see you posting Lindsey. It sounds like you are getting good care, and getting things sorted. A big shout out to Guy for the awesome step by step guide! These kind of posts are what make this forum worthwhile.
I quite like the new watch. I agree with you that it's dressy, but not a dress watch. It will have a nice casual look with the Toshi, but put it on a croc or alligator and it could pull off dress watch duty. It has a real presence to it, and I like the day-date Implementation.

Great to hear from you and I hope you are doing well on the road to recovery.

I like your Tissot day date. I have a Hamilton day date with a similar layout and 80 hour power reserve, maybe they share the same movement, who knows.

Anyway take care and good to see you still share our passion for watches :)
