F1 2022 / 2023 / 2024 Motorsport Thread

Post by what-time-is-it »

New season so a new motorsport thread was needed - not exclusively for F1 or 4 wheels this time as I know we have a few members that follow Moto GP, Touring Cars, Rallying etc so any motorsport news, gossip, controversy or general chit chat is welcome - just remember to keep it clean and forum friendly.

Remember to post if you are going to an event!
Current collection incl Citizen, G-Shock, Rolex, Seiko, Sinn & Tag.

Any predictions for the F1 season ahead.

I think I will go with the same as I predicted last season:

1. Hamilton, 2. Vettel, 3. Verstappen (assuming the Honda engine will be half decent).

I believe it'll be

1. Hamilton
2. Vettel
3. Verstappen
4. LeClerc
5. Bottas

Hamilton will narrowly win the title through Merc backing him over Bottas early in the season. Ferrari will let both drivers race again. The Red Bull car will win several races on merit.

Very sad to see Maurizio Arrivabene replaced today.

I hope for a better year for Ferrari and I'm hopeful of Charles Leclerc doing well.

I'll make a note of season predictions after testing - top 5 seems like a good idea.

It always surprises me how empty the grandstands are at Daytona.

It's pretty busy I think. The max capacity is in the millions of people for the site. Don't underestimate how huge the place is if you've never been!

True, it's no Le Mans ...

Yes it has a massive infield but I think overall capacity is now only 101,000. The grandstands look empty giving the illusion that no one is there, compare this to the 500 which sells out I don’t think endurance racing in the states is that popular despite its long tradition of races at Daytona and Sebring.
