The first one is much to be preferred. I take it that is the West Coast Mainline?

Yup, The public footpath passes under the lines, then runs alongside for a couple of hundred yards and then back over a footbridge. Very odd.Amor Vincit Omnia wrote: ↑Tue Nov 10, 2020 3:32 pm

Nipped out for a quick recreational ride this morning. In comparison with my GS, I have to say it's damn cold on the Scrambler. Enjoyable though.

Hack Green - went there a few years ago to EMLRA event (Ex Military Land Rover). It's rather odd seeing signs to the "Secret Bunker" isn't it? Quite chilling in a way, but well worth a visit.
I started out with nothing and I still have most of it left

Yep, it's a bit ironic...exHowfener wrote: ↑Mon Nov 23, 2020 3:26 pm Hack Green - went there a few years ago to EMLRA event (Ex Military Land Rover). It's rather odd seeing signs to the "Secret Bunker" isn't it? Quite chilling in a way, but well worth a visit.
Ashamed to admit I've never been inside - despite the fact it's about 20 minutes from home.

I failed miserably to get the children our for some fresh air, but I am enjoying a pleasant afternoon with a round the island ride. Currently stopped for coffee and cake, which makes it even better.

I'm about half an hour away and called in out of curiosity on the way home one day.downer wrote: ↑Mon Nov 23, 2020 4:35 pmYep, it's a bit ironic...exHowfener wrote: ↑Mon Nov 23, 2020 3:26 pm Hack Green - went there a few years ago to EMLRA event (Ex Military Land Rover). There's a bit you can go and see before paying to see the whole site and it was quiet when I was there apart from a stag do all dressed as pirates ready for a tour round. Quite an unexpected surreal sight.

The pirates thing is a bit odd... Maybe I'll take a look once we are the other side of Covid etc.RichM wrote: ↑Sun Nov 29, 2020 6:00 pm

Out in the Peak District this morning. A wee bit damp and the cloud was low. However, the roads remain pretty special.
