^^^^ I do like that
...and every time I see your bike Richard, I have flashbacks to the 1980's Nighthawk 650
(there's a certain resemblance)

If you rewind your memory a little further - back to mid 1970's, you will find the true inspiration for my bike - the CB750 Four...StrapMeister wrote: ↑Fri Jun 12, 2020 11:32 pm ^^^^ I do like that

I remember this bike (and more specifically the 550 Four). It was my dream bike way back then.

What a great bike that was in the day.
I actually had a CB550/4 but the cam chain tensioners were made of chocolate

Re: Post a picture from your latest ride
OK, here's a bit of fun. My first bikes.
Like most spotty teenagers of the time, I couldn't wait to turn sixteen when we could ride mopeds on L-plates. I didn't have a bike but my Mum did, so this (or rather one like it) was my daily commute to work 20 miles a day.
Before you giggle too much, I did take the basket off! Street cred wasn't really a thing for me (and still isn't) - but this was my ticket to freedom, to a degree of independence and bragging rights to getting nearly 40mph going downhill. I used the Passola for some six months before I passed my driving test and then used the car (Vaux Viva) mainly. After another year I passed my bike test and bought my first real bike- a 1981 Kawasaki Z250A3.
Which I absolutely loved. I did get to know it inside and out due to it's tendency to eat seals and burn valves. Had the Kwak up until I needed to go away to Uni. Some eight years later in '97 I got back into bikes and went significantly more upmarket to this-
Which was a revelation. It started, it went, it was easy to work on. It was a perfect tool for tootling around as well as a couple of longer trips in and around the highlands. I had the K75S for 13 years before the opportunity to upgrade once more, but those were my first three bikes.

Re: Post a picture from your latest ride
Takes me back, scaring the neighbors when testing a 200hp in a big bin on the drive in my urban neighbourhood before i relocated the boat to a compound by the sea...
Im envious as no boat now and rarely get to the coast.
P.S found the Tohatsu was a great workhorse I had one to replace a big (too big) old temperamental Evinrude when it expired.

Me thinks too Tohatsu makes great engines. That said, having also one Evinrude motor (+ one Johnnson)
This puppy started up, out of box with the second pull
I am breaking in the motor in a bucket since I don’t want to go out today having zero minutes in

Some cool retro there Rich! Like the scooter and the Kawasaki 250
Mine started with a beaten up FS1E shared with a mate then a DT125 (a bitsa deathtrap), after I came off 4 times in a short period I decided bikes and me weren't a great combination at the time and switched to 4 wheels (I was young, reckless, stupid).

If you get chance (and have the inclination) please post some pics when you get out on the water
Though it will probably start an itch and the Mrs will divorce me if I start looking at boats.

I will do that
Here’s 3/5 of my fleet, so just one boat does not do any harm

I see the problem. The stand only has 2 wheels which means it's dragging across the ground. Fit 2 more wheels and it'll go like sh1t off a shovel.

OK, try this...
Turn it upside down, take off the prop and put an aero prop on.
Bet it will go then!
