Scooter's Perfect Day
http://www.christopherwardforum.com/vie ... =4&t=49630 post got me thinking. There are lot of cyclists, motorcyclusts, and scooter riders (scooterists?) on the forum. It would be fun to see pictures from members as they ride around and enjoy the summer of their 2 wheeled transportation. Bonus points for watches in the photos. Here are a couple from a ride earlier this week. I spent the morning riding the trails and single-track in our river valley on my cyclocross bike. There is some amazing riding only minutes from my house. These pictures were taken near the end of my ride, after I climbed from river level up to the top of the valley:
Looking Southeast across the river:
It's hard to believe that a view like this is less than 10 minutes from the centre of a city of nearly a million people. Looking West towards the downtown core:

Pleased to join the e-riders club this week, with many thanks to scooter for the countless PM's for advice, debate and support in this decision.
For those that never tried one, all I can say is that e-bikes are a revelation. They may not be for purists but they certainly enable longer distances and increased enjoyment (less pain).
Today was my third time out:
This is the bike:
And a local duck pond:
I plan to steadily build the distance, to reach some interesting locations before the end of the summer.

I don't take pictures, as I'm always against the clock. At 71, I find that Strava lets me ride a TT every time i go out, and it's addictive.

I'm very happy to be Strava buddies with both Paul and downer and agree it's a great app to get you out there on the open road.
Richard's Haibike is an excellent bike and perfect for those longer rides.

I'd say you are doing something right Paul. That is a very decent pace indeed. Keep up the riding.
Downer, that is a nice looking bike. I'm jealous of all of you in the UK for the amazing scenery you have on your rides. My road rides outside the city, while few these days, are mostly filled with mile after mile of fields. No 500 year old castles anywhere in sight!

The first 100 miles pass under my bike wheels...
And an ironic signpost...
