^^^ That's a lot of hours.
My next shift (Wednesday 07:00 - 19:00) will be using an alternative bike as "my" FJR is in for a service. The alternative is an older F800GT which some of our riders prefer as it is lighter. I've used it once in the past and I have to say I prefer the FJR, although the BMW is perfectly ok.
Yes weekend shifts are the busy ones especially Friday evenings.
I cover quite an area as well, the "patch" covers Swindon - Marlborough - Devizes - Warminster - Shepton Mallet - Paulton - Bath - Chippenham - Malmesbury (and everywhere in between).
My next shift won't be until mid-March now where I'll be covering Mon-Thurs 19:00 - 07:00 each night.
I'll be very interested to hear your thoughts on the F800 Richard.
We have one of these which is primarily used to cover to inner city work in and around Bristol.
I think that I still prefer the old BMW R1150/1200RT's for riding position and comfort
...but the benefit of the reliability, cost of servicing and repairs meant the switch to the FJR's.
Keep up the great work
