Down to visit son No.1 and took the bike for a very light ride (dodgy spine) along the seafront.
The sea, wind, light and tide were conspiring!

The weather looked good and so I popped out for a 30+ miler on The Focus.

This pop up camp site at Codford looked fun:

Having owned the Scrambler all of a couple of weeks, the only flaw in the experience has been a tendency for the bike to stall or feel as if it is about to stall - apparently a common issue with many variants of the 1200 engine. Having read about the "booster plug" I decided to give one a try, even if my instinct was that it may be a snake oil product.

Easy to fit, although on the Scrambler, it entails removing the exhaust silencers, it has definitely solved the issue. Before, the bike was most likely to stall in slow manoeuvres when going from closed throttle to light opening. I could hear/feel the bike hesitate slightly. In most cases, there was no stall but it was definitely annoying, even if it was possible to drive around it by giving it a bit more revs/using the clutch more than necessary.

Anyway, the booster plug has ironed it out, which makes the bike a bit nicer to ride in town. Some say it makes the engine better at other speeds, but I can't say I've noticed that too much.

Had to do a test ride...

On the old hexhead 1200 GS's it was felt that the system ran a little lean. A 'booster plug' added an additional temperature variant resistance to the temperature sensor in the airbox which supposedly made the electronics think it was a little colder than it was in reality so adding a little more fuel- QED, a richer mixture. Is that something similar?

Exactly that. Supposedly it is only active in certain circumstances but I must admit the technical stuff is a bit beyond me.

All I know is - it works for me. :D

Ah but just being out there with the good weather is amazing. Just sorting my gear for a few hours coastal trip but besides not on the water.
Great pics and those in the last post too 👍

And the somewhat inappropriately named highest village in Britain (allegedly)...

Last proper ride out before new incoming this week.

Most of the farkles have been removed for selling on and I've gathered together the last 15 years service history ready for its next owner. I'll miss the old girl and she's served me well, but looking forward to the new bike.
