Cheeky little rideout to Burton Bradstock and West Bay.
Got there, stayed for about two minutes and off again.
A degree of motorbike social distancing at West Bay. Sandwiched between a Yamaha and a Triumph.
On the B3157 near Burton Bradstock with Chesil Beach in the background.
Looking towards Lyme Regis.

Rideouts to the seaside have got to be one of the favourites. Having an icecream is mandated by law I belive if they were open.

To be honest Rich, I preferred to keep well away from other people.
It was all about the ride for me.

Nice pics, scooter. I'd like to get to see the sea asap although the interesting coastline that is near to me is mostly in Wales - so it's out of bounds for now.

Resuming my IAM Observer training next week so I spent some time refreshing my memory one of the routes on the GS. It passes through some rather nice parkland in Cheshire:

Beautiful sky.
What sort of distance do you cover on one of your days out?
Mine seem to be in the range of 60 - 100 miles.
If you were offered the gift of a new highly specced motorbike or high end watch which would you take?
The only proviso is that you were not allowed to profit in the future by selling it on.

Currently, I'm limiting myself to 2 or 3 hours on the bikes so yes, around 100 miles. I'm avoiding any public loos (most of them are shut anyway) and refreshments. Last summer I was happy to be out all day, but at the moment, it's a morning or afternoon session.scooter wrote: ↑Sun May 31, 2020 12:03 pm Beautiful sky.

As for the "motorbike or watch" question, it's an absolute no-brainer. My last swap was this:
For this:
I know which one gives me more pleasure!
In fact I view my current watch collection as a fund for future motorcycles. I guess that answers the question.

Re: Post a picture from your latest ride
Very much the same.
I travel alone and rarely stop to be honest. Yesterday was a bit of an exception.
Your answer was as expected. I had an email from Fowlers Bristol to say that they were reopening soon (with limitations obviously). They also advised me in a separate email that (Artisan) had been in touch with them about me and the Horwin CR6 electric bike that we were discussing recently.
Fowlers will be letting me know when they receive one (should be soon) and will contact me to see if I would like to visit it and see it.
It would be churlish to refuse.

Churlish indeed. How do the current licence rules apply to electric bikes concerning power/cc etc? I assume each electric bike is 'rated' at an equivalent CC/KW to determine which licence is required?
I understand the initial acceleration on electric bikes is a bit special...

^^^ Just watched MOTOBOB's review. Looks a lot of fun.
I also like the look of the Fantic Caballero 125 scrambler or Flat Tracker:
- although obviously they are old fashioned internal combustion jobbies.

Re: Post a picture from your latest ride
I understand that on a CBT you can ride an electric bike up to 125cc (11kw max).
That equates to 14.8 hp.
The initial acceleration is apparently quite quick as you so rightly surmise.
I have seen motobob's review.
Your other selections are nice bikes but not really for me.
I went for The Monkey because it was different and like the Horwin because, well because.
Still a scooterboy at heart though.

Saw a few older scooters out and about this morning. Can't beat that 2-stroke smell. A few of them even nodded back at me.scooter wrote: ↑Sun May 31, 2020 1:57 pm I understand that on a CBT you can ride an electric bike up to 125cc (11kw max).

I ventured out for the first time today without my full balaclava. I decided that if the kids could go back to school today unprotected so could I.
Lord Valentine Thynne, brother of the recently deceased Lord Bath, was found dead hanging from a bedspread attached to an oak beam in the lounge bar of the Bath Arms, following a gala evening at Longleat attended by Princess Margaret.
That was on the 4 July 1979 and he was aged 41.

Rode past Beeston Castle this afternoon. This is the 19th Century gatehouse. The castle itself is somewhat older...
