Making the most of the early evening sun I took the Monkey on a 70 mile run stopping at The Fovant Badges.

These are fascinating Scooter. Do you know if there are any plans to restore the lost badges?

Also, I'm loving the Monkey. As much as I'd like to ride, I don't trust our local drivers enough to actually own a bike. If I ever took the plunge I'd be looking long and hard at a Grom as a first bike.

Thanks for this post as well as others like it. I joined this forum hoping to learn more along the lines of horolgy, but am learning so much more. The included link was a great help.

Lavaine/watchaholic

Thank you for your interest.

Here are a couple of links that may be of use:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-w ... e-41095882

https://www.fovantbadges.com/about-the- ... he-badges/

I spent sometime in Salisbury Library recently where they had a folder containing lots of WWI photographs of the troops settled around Fovant depicting their time there.

It was fascinating.

Very interesting, I wasn’t aware of the badges before.

First time doing “The Ball”, four and half mile 1700ft climb. Not the ideal bike for it!

Another little outing with The Monkey this evening. This took me to the quaint village of East Knoyle which is noted for being the birth place of Sir Christopher Wren and for Clouds Hill (a rehabilitation centre for drug and/or drink dependants). Many a famous 'inmate' has been spotted in the nearby Fox and Hounds.

It was a lovely sunny early evening and this could only mean another rideout on The Monkey.

Beautiful morning. Took a ride across the borders, down the Wye Valley and through Tintern. A road closure south of Tintern meant a welcome diversion across the tops of the valley to get back down to Chepstow before the bridge back over the Severn.

Thanks Richard. It’s in fine fettle for a 2005 but I’m afraid that’s mostly down to so few miles on the clock. Oh, and washing it to within an inch of its life each ride

They are such good looking bikes, and can't think of a better all round bike out there.

Scoots, that monkey is simply fab. Looks like an absolute riot to ride.
