My wild guess. Cyprus somewhere along the border. Probably in Nicosia. Taken from the Greek side. :)

Saw it in Simon Reeves' program Mediterranean.

Was there in late 70s on UN duties based at Nicosia Airport.

I used my powers of deduction! :)

I know a chap who often holidays in Cyprus. Noted the Greek flag and colour scheme. Thought border post, divided island. Border through Nicosia. Bingo.

Thinking of a WW2 or later war memorial, probably American with the Eagle.

No idea where though.

Spot on with the location, scooter!

It’s the Polish Memorial, however. The Shot At Dawn Memorial is incredibly poignant. Don’t mind telling you I wept standing before it.

OK, this one is a cathedral obviously. One of my great favourites, a wonderful expression of high Gothic throughout the building but particularly on this fabulous West front. But where is it?
