Where's the girl gone, Bernie? :shock:

These are my feet (legs encased in windproof onesie!) That down there is the Mediterranean. Vertical separation about 1.2 miles.

Took off from Mt Babadag in Turkey on a tandem paraglide. My fellow flier (pictured) leaving the take-off zone (flat col to the left of summit) about 1 minute after me...

The views were incredible and it took us 40 minutes to get down to the beach below. This was my second go...didn't take the camera on the first one, but then realised they give you a jump suit with a safety cord for your camera. 2nd trip was half-price. Fabulous experience, even if landing was a bit scary.

You're all too kind, I love doing B&W pictures as sometimes less is more, including fireworks which don't have to be colourful to be exciting;

You're right there!

I used to do a lot of darkroom stuff when I worked in boarding schools in the 80s, and I experimented quite a lot with soft focus and sepia. I wish I knew what happened to those negatives and prints. :(

However, you can get some nice effects in Photoshop. I did these after a trip to Rhodes and Symi a few years back...

Nice pictures :thumbup:

I did a lot of darkroom work which was very satisfying but Photoshop is sooooooo much easier if slightly less satisfying.

the nice thing about having done darkroom work is that you actually understand what some of the photoshop tools really are/mean.

ask a 25 yr old what "dodging and burning" are and they will show you an icon and say "lightening and darkening".

while i'll open up a box in the attic and pull out a few pieces of black illustration board with different size holes in them, along with a couple of coat hangers with the little pieces of illustration board cut out of those holes taped onto them.
the "g" is for Greg...

Swiss cheese and lollipops the kids used to call them!

I do like Photoshop, though, because you can usually turn a rubbish picture into something arty and vaguely interesting.

This thread has prompted me to download hundreds of old photos from CDs and USBs onto my laptop and get creative again. Thanks, Bernie! :thumbup:
