MK1 C60 forced patina bezel.

Post by fantasticmrfish »

It's not going to be to everyone's taste but attached is my latest effort to force age the bezel insert for my C60 MK1. I'm chuffed with the results.

Very nice (although the opposite of what I like to do with my watches). However, you seem to have lost something during the process! :)

Haha, I have been investigating some clunky running since we're all house bound and discovered a broken jewel on the train wheel bridge so the remainder of the watch is in pieces at the moment.

Nice work, how did you accomplish that effect?

For me I go in either of two directions - keep my watches prestige, immaculate and as good as new, or wear them, beat them and love every mark and blemish the pick up along the way. A bit of forced patina cal always help with the latter.

Shouldn't you knock the lume pip out for authenticity?
There's always time for one more.

I don't understand why you wanted to do this, but if you like it, that is all that matters.

Was just some polishing papers to get it started then some household bleach to take the colour out of it.

I did file it back to give it an uneven appearance.

I either like my watches perfect or worn in looking and the bezel had some slight blemishes so it wasn't perfect anymore. I just wanted to push it to very well worn looking.

To each to their own, but I like it. It really gives it a nice hard-use military look. Good job!
