C70 GB Brooklands after CW re-case, new dial and overhaul...

Post by f1colin »

So, you may recall I was contemplating a new rallye style "holed" strap for my Brooklands and at the same time the bezel knocks / marks were irritating the hell out of me.

An email to Wera and Dan soon got me mailing my C70 to CW towers in Maidenhead for a re-case. At the same time, Dan kindly arranged for the right paperwork and box to be united with the watch (as it was delivered with a US box when new and my pal who I got it from didn't care), whilst the dial was replaced under the 60/60 as there was a tiny de-lamination of the lovely metallic british racing green colour.

It has come back pristine - new battery fitted too at no charge and the chrono / second hand aligns perfectly now (was slightly off). The new case is wonderful (the mark in the pics is dust picked up by my macro lens). Trouble is it is too good to wear so I am selling shortly but wanted to post these first...

So, the box is undone:

Oh, the rallye strap looks great - IMHO a better match for the black bezel that the brown and echoes the circles theme on the face - much like a BRM watch, but I have kept the original too of course...

Ah, it's a shame to see a good watch go unworn. It's a lovely piece.

That does look nice on the rally strap, black on black bezel is much nicer than the light tan one.Mind that bezel if you wear it again, be a shame to damage it after a refurb.
