Sping Summer 2013 Magazine

Post by Kip »

The CW Spring/Summer magazine is now available for viewing online.

Plenty of good reading and some interesting finds.

In summary

Bluebird C7. Baby blue quartz

Red C7 - the same pinky red as the Jag so won't be getting that.

Typhoon - ceramic so a BIG no

Re launch of the Scooter

The spring release do tend to be variations and it is the autumn when the new models get launched.

Love the Bluebird but at 1912 pieces I don't think that will sell out anytime soon, so might wait for it on offer as £499 for a quartz is pushing the envelope. Red one also looks nice as does the VW4.

The Formula 1 series sounds interesting - crushed carbon fibre........?

What is worrying is that we are now seeing a LOT of watches being released as 'limited edition' - which will dilute residual and future value and could also lessen CWL's credibility as a serious watch brand...

I don't see that as the case at all. In fact compared to the 'big guys' I see every Christopher Ward as a limited edition. Some are just more limited then others. :D For me, this is one of the attractions of the CW brand.

I really don't understand how you came to that conclusion. And as we track eBay prices we are seeing the limited editions selling well.

Err...you'll have to explain your thinking on that one :?

If you have a finite supply of an item, where demand exceeds supply, then the residual & future value (assuming demand stays) will be good.
Granted not all CW lines are as popular as others but then that's true for all brands.
Not sure either how having smaller,LE runs dilutes credibility as a watch brand. Personally, the Rolex/Omegas of this world where they release strictly limited runs in huge numbers are far more laughable.

I can see the point. If there is a lot of "Buy one quick, it's a strictly limited edition" advertising, there is a risk of the Franklin Mint effect....

There are only nine watches currently listed as limited editions. Among those the C5 Battle of Britain and the black C9 Harrison Chronograph have been around for ages. I don't see that as too many limited editions.

Don't you already have the slippers? I got mine with watch #5. Then, the smoking jacket with #10, and so it goes...
